About Beans Only
Beans Only is a free guide to speciality coffee beans from independent UK roasters. It shows bags of coffee only, so you can compare flavour, origin, roast and price per 250g in one place.
How it works
Every day, a program reads the public product listings on each roaster's own online shop. It keeps only the coffee beans, and leaves out machines, merchandise, gift cards, subscriptions and bundles.
- Prices are shown per 250g so coffees compare fairly. If a roaster doesn't sell a 250g bag, we scale the nearest size and mark the price as “about”. If we can't work out a 250g price, we show the roaster's own price instead.
- Tasting notes are the roaster's own words. We only show a roast level or brew style when the roaster states it.
- Flavour groups (such as citrus or chocolate) are sorted by software that reads the roaster's description. It can make mistakes. If something looks wrong, tell us.
- Sold-out coffees are hidden, and come back when they're back in stock.
Prices and stock can change at any time, so check the roaster's page before you buy.
Links and money
Every coffee links to the roaster's own shop, and you buy from them directly. Beans Only does not sell coffee. At the moment we don't earn anything from clicks. If we add affiliate links in future, we'll say so clearly on every page, and it won't change which coffees we show or how they are ordered.
Links carry a small tag (utm_source=beansonly.co.uk) so roasters can see that a visit came from us.
For roasters
We only use information that is public on your shop, we respect your robots.txt, and we pause between requests so we don't slow your site down.
If a listing is wrong, or you'd like your coffees removed, email hello@beansonly.co.uk with your shop's address. We'll fix or remove it as soon as we can. If you'd like to be added, send us your shop's address too.
Privacy
- You don't need an account, and we don't set cookies.
- We don't currently use analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we'll update this page first.
- The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google can see your IP address when you visit.
- Your filter choices stay in your browser and the page address. We don't store them.
- When you click through to a roaster, their own privacy policy applies.
